There are many great Tumblr sites out there collecting images. What's even better is when they show just how good Apple's design is by how much others copy it!

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that tomorrows iTunes announcement will reveal the arrival of The Beatles to the iTunes Store.
The Beatles have been absent from online retailers for some time, as the WSJ states, the arrival of the groups back catalogue could well be more of a symbolic sign for the future of the CD rather than huge sales.
Only last year the bands back catalogue where remastered on CD, something fans have clamoured for for some time, so they're may be few fans left who actually want to download from the store (Unless they are too lazy to rip the CD's).
Certainly iTunes itself is excited. So much so the homepage of the store is taken up with an EXCITING announcement banner, boldly claiming that:
"Tomorrow is just another day.
That you'll never forget"
and inviting us to check back today at 3pm.
Given that previous relations between Apple Corp Ltd and Apple Computers have been somewhat fraught over copyright battles, let's hope that some serious kissing and making up has gone on behind the scenes between Steve, EMI and Macca....
Speculation time! It looks like we are poised for the 1st September. So let the rumour mill commence!
Here's Used Mac's predictions:
An iPhone 4 for Verizon: Rumours about that Apple will reversion the iPhone 4 so that it can run on a CDMA network. This is a rather obscure US type of mobile network that Verizon runs. Unlike here in the UK, you can still only get an iPhone on AT&T. That could end if Apple produce an iPhone to run on Verizon's network. I would be surprised if this was announced this soon though.
Chances: 3/10 - but definitely in the New Year
An updated iPod Touch with a front facing camera to enable Facechat on Wifi, with a similar form factor to bring the iPod Touch up to date with the iPhone 4, along with more RAM and the same processor. Apple want to push the iPod Touch as being a gaming device so perhaps a Games Store will get hyped up.
Chances: 8/10
iTV - The makes of Coronation Street are really unhappy about the reports that Apple are planning to relaunch Apple TV as iTV whilst also moving it over to iOS. iOS 4 on Apple TV makes sense for Apple. It's becoming the Operating System for all the devices that don't fit the 'traditional' computer model. Imagine having the App Store through your TV, interesting prospect. Apple TV has failed to cut through into the mainstream like the iPod has. Perhaps a refreshed hardware, running on iOS with a new TV rental store would up its game?
Chances: 6/10
Macbook Air - Will they can it? Will they quietly sideline it? Or will it get a new form factor? I doubt very much that it will get smaller. Apple will not make a netbook, especially as they have defined a new sector with the iPad. They may however just give it a refresh. Perhaps a new i7 processor. I doubt any announcements at all on this line though.
Chances: 2/10
iPod Classic - I'm going to be bold here. I think they could can it. Rather than push the capacity up in line with 2.5" laptop drives (it could be 640MB by now), they decided to go down to 120GB last time and give it the 'classic' moniker. When car manufacturers release a new model they often sell the older one as a 'Classic'. Perhaps it could be curtains as the iPod Touch becomes the mainstay of the iPod range?
Chances: 6/10
One more thing
Now this is the big one. Going by the hint of a Guitar in there Press Release there will clearly be something musical announced. What could it be? I doubt that The Beatles back catalogue coming to the iTunes Store really merits that big a deal now. I think we need to look to Spotify. Apple have been building big server farms of late. This must be for them to play catchup in the Cloud game.
How would they do this? There are a few options: Get more social and integrate mFlow or Spotify style sharing features iTunes. Or could be they about to offer a Spotify style subscription service? I'm doubtful they will go that far. Sales of single tracks looks too lucrative for them to move away from it. Its hugely more profitable than Spotify's model.
So perhaps they could develop a more web based iTunes Store? I was pretty surprised when they actually placed the Preview Store online. Is the next step to make it useable for those with iTunes installed, with added social integration? Perhaps you could access your own iTunes Store on your iMac from elsewhere via the Cloud - updating it, creating playlists?
I will put a personal request in at this point. Please Steve, give me wireless automatic syncing to my iPhone please. Time Capsule works so sweetly, I want it the other way to my iPhone....
What do you expect? Let me know with your comments!
iOS goes up to 4.0.2 as they seek to close the PDF security hole

I'm beginning to go a bit 'tin foil hat wearer'. Normally I'm weary of nutters that claim that Big Brother is out to get them. Particularly Apple as being seemingly 'the new Microsoft' in the tech hate stakes.
The last week or so though I've been driven mad by my original iPhone 3G (which is sadly not blessed with the 256mb of RAM and faster processor that the 3GS and 4G have). Is Apple making my phone as slow as possible to force me into a upgrade?
I'm beginning to loose count of the times I've had to reboot to kill really bad lag and freezing on my original 'slow' 3G
Oddly at times the phone shows promise and runs really quickly when switching between third party apps and say Safari.
There doesn't seem to be any consistency either to this. Sometimes the iPhone will be left locked for ages without any apps running in a normal standby state. At the point at which I want to just use it tho, it won't even respond to sliding the bar to open.
Deeply frustrating. (So much so I keep wondering what a Nexus One would be like.)
I've just picked up my Dad's iPhone 3G and noticed he's still on 3.1.3. It's distinctly more responsive.
When I'm reunited back with my MacBook next week I may try something Apple doesn't like: Rolling back an update.
Are you on an older iPhone and having these problems?
Apple has moved up to third in a global list of laptop manufacturers - but this data includes netbook and tablet sales. Sales of the iPad have helped increase Apples sales in the sector to almost 6 million units from just 2.5 million when iPads are excluded from the data. The overell and Toshiba. Interesting.
Does it make sense to add tablets to overall laptop data? Well, you could argue that sales of the iPad are much higher than any other tablet has ever been so must be winning people over from traditional laptops. Therefore including them is correct.
However, should we segregate the two markets to help identify the shift away from laptops towards more user-friendly tablet devices?
There has been some bad press about buying larger basket-value items on eBay, but if you follow some basic rules there is no reason to worry!
1) Beware of Uneducated Sellers
Now we don’t mean people with no qualifications who hang around pubs at 11am.... We’re talking about people who don’t know what they are selling. The item description needs to be full and professional, showing processor type/speed, memory, hard drive capacity and other important specifications. If there is a defect, you need to ensure you understand exactly what the problem is or you’ll end up with a corrupt Mac that doesn’t work... Sometimes you can pick up a bargain when the seller doesn’t quite know what they are selling, but as most Mac owners possess a decent amount of Apple knowledge these auctions are rare.
2) Read Carefully!
Ensure you double-check what you are bidding for. Is the product brand new, used, refurbished or just for spares/repairs? You wouldn’t believe how many people fail to see the spares/repairs text in bold and then wonder why their £50 MacBook Air doesn’t actually work...
3) Research the Seller
Many people take a few minutes to view the feedback ratings for the seller but most fail to delve any deeper than this. Check out their recent item sales – try to find similar products or higher value items. If they have sold £500 items before with no issues then this is a good sign. If the eBay seller is a small business then they may have a website – check this out and maybe give them a call if you have any questions.
4) Don’t Get Auction Fever!
Many auction items on eBay are very good value, but unfortunately Apple products can generate huge interest leading to bidding wars. The prices are pushed up quickly and many get carried away with the moment and end up paying over the odds for their item. Decide your limit – this should be item-specific – and stick to it religiously.
5) Use PayPal
Despite media attitudes, eBay is actually heavily biased towards the buyer, protecting them in numerous ways. As long as you follow their recommended payment procedures then you are very well protected. If you pay with PayPal, you can get the value refunded if by some chance the seller was a scammer. Don’t, whatever you do, send a cheque or collect in person and pay by cash as you probably won’t get a receipt.
Rumour is rife that that Apple has quietly acquired the online mapping company Poly9 Group. Cyberpresse, a French-Canadian online news site released the story today and, as yet, Apple has not denied it. The software in question is the Poly9 Globe and is basically an embeddable version of Google Earth. It runs on JavaScript and will be easily compatible with the Apple HTML5 'revolution'.
Official Apple maps would make a great App for iPad and iPhone, as well as improve their general online services - something Google is obviously much stronger in. However, in order to compete with Google maps Apple really need to get this right very quickly.
Apple have released a minor update to Safari that amongst other updates and bug fixes will now disable any older versions of Flash that Apple deem insecure. ...
